My husband passed away from colon cancer this October. He was 30. I'm 27 and raising our boys alone now. Struggling with cancer was difficult enough, but adding finances makes it even worse. While my husband was home battling this disease I stayed up all night for weeks researching for a cure. I found some websites that offered financial assistance. I applied to all the foundations. It felt like a miracle when the checks started to arrive. I finally saw a smile on his face. I want to help anyone I can who is suffering financially from this crisis called Cancer. Please post your email or email me with a request for the list.
Hospice actually took my list and formated the information into their new brochures. I'm happy but shocked they didn't provide this for patients on their own. I guess we really do need to fight in everyway for ourselves. The list has the foundations numbers and websites. Email me anytime with questions. Good luck to you all. This fight can be won. Don't EVER give up.

First of all, let me start by saying I'm very, very sorry to hear of your loss. I can't imagine what you've gone through, especially at such a young age! You are absolutely correct; there are several ways to participate in the fight against cancer!
I'm very happy you found our website and posted this message on our online message board! I'm sure a lot of our patients here at Huntsman Cancer Institute could benefit from your financial research. What a wonderful way to become a patient advocate! I'd really like to have a copy of your list. In addition, do you have a brochure (from the hospice company)?

I am so sorry about your loss. You must be a very strong person to now try to help others. I would like your list of the the foundations you found to help financially.
My son has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He is 48 and has a wife and 3 children under 8. He was self employed as a carpenter and has no insurance. Any information would be appreciated.

| I am truly sorry on your loss. Thank you for being so generous after such a tragic event. Like you, I lost my husband recently. He was 36 years old. He died of liver and kidney failure. Now I am living with cancer. I was diagnosed November, 2007 with a neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas. I am currently undergoing chemo and radiation therapy. I am 34 years old. I cannot even imagine the pain and stress you have encountered with all of this. My heart goes out to you.

He is 64 and I am 55. We have one chemo left to try that insurance will not cover and it will be $1300 3 times a month. I would be very interested in your financial aid list . I am sorry for your loss. My brother was just recently diagnosed with Colorectal cancer and had surgery. Now, the doctor advised him to have Chemotherapy for 6 months and the cost is very expensive and he does not have a health insurance. My mother is fighting pancreatic cancer and I think she and my dad are about to give up due to the financial hardships. They have already mortgaged the house trying to keep the collectors at bay.

I am so sorry for your loss and that you are helping those of us who need the information on financial help.
I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October, 2008. I had the Whipple procedure done in December of 2008. I am uninsured, have not been able to work, denied Social Security Disability and the bills keep mounting. My home will be foreclosed upon in February, the vehicle repossessed and the utilities shut off.
I am starting chemo on Friday (Jan 09) and just do not know what to do. My CA19-9 results came back today and they went from 350 after surgery to 750 currently.
This is such a depressing day for me but I still am hopeful that I will beat this thing called Cancer!
