In March of this year I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In April I had surgery to remove my spleen and 2/3 of my pancreas etc. I was on a feeding tube for six weeks post op and was deathly ill due to a reaction to the feedings. This post op illness is indicative of the way my body would respond to chemo so taking chemo is not an option. The two oncologists I have seen both have said to go home and "get your paperwork in order" as there is nothing they can offer me to prolong my life. They will not consider alternative treatments and I am lost on my own. I have tried green tea, other herbal remedies, thyroid treatment and etc. I am interested in Vitamin C therapy but cannot find a doctor willing to administer this treatment.

I recently called my surgeon to ask for a mentor, someone a few months ahead of me in the recovery process. They have no one to connect me with. I am and have been experiencing worsening abdominal pains post op and none of my doctors can offer me any further testing or options besides pain management. I am continually told that it is just a matter of time.

Is there anyone out there who has survived pancreatic cancer or who has helped a loved one cope with the deterioration of the disease? I am very strong willed and accept my fate BUT I just need to know what could be causing the worsening pain. My darling husband has been by my side everyday since March but I still feel alone in that there are no answers. I would really appreciate some sort of feed back from anyone with pancreatic cancer experience.

Also, in my research I have learned that one of the first treatments given to patients with curable types of cancer is a change in diet. No one who has treated me has said a single word concerning the benefits this could have on a pancreatic cancer patient's well being. It is sad that human beings with incurable cancers are tossed aside to flounder on their own. We only have our will to live to keep us going.
